Emotional eating is a conditioned response. Without understanding the mechanics,willpower alone is never enough.
Stress,boredom,loneliness,anxiety,or fatigue create an uncomfortable emotional state. The brain seeks fast relief — and if food has worked before,it reaches for food.
Food — especially sugar and fat — triggers dopamine release,providing temporary emotional relief. The brain logs this as an effective coping strategy and files it away for next time.
